Open Promo for Authors - Bring it on!

Welcome to Open Promo for Authors! Once again I've decided to open the floor (or blog post as the case may be) and allow you, my fellow romance authors, a chance to tell me about your book. Do you have a current or upcoming release? Then I want to hear about it! After all, Christmas is right around the corner. And what's better than a stocking full of books?

I do have a few pesky rules though:

  • The book has to be a romance. I don't care what genre romance, but my readership is romance so we're going to give them what they love.

  • You can post for yourself or you can post about a fabulous new book you can't wait to get your hands on and you think we should all run out and buy.

  • If you include a short excerpt in the post, please include a rating AT THE BEGINNING of the post. Let's be thoughtful of those readers who are uncomfortable with some heat levels.

  • Also, I reserve the right to delete a post if it promotes objectionable content. (incest, rape, etc.)

Simple enough, right? Post away!

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for this opportunity. I'll toss out a plug for my debut novel, Fallen Star, which was e-published in June of this year. It's a sweet, contemporary romance about an ordinary guy, an extraordinary girl, a journey of discovery. It's available on all e-formats.

Here's my blurb and thanks again.

When ordinary guy, E.J. McCarty, crosses paths with not-so-ordinary Annie Wilson, extraordinary things happen. For E.J., it’s the start of a great adventure. For Annie, it’s an escape from colossal failure. But thanks to fate--and Amtrak--they’re thrust together on the cross-country ride of their lives.

E.J. and Annie like each other, so what’s the problem? Rock star/actress Cassandra Lawrence is the problem. Despite their obvious attraction to each other, Cassandra’s history in show biz and distrustful nature conspire to keep them apart.

Can E.J. break down the walls Cassandra has built around Annie? Can Annie learn to trust E.J. enough to let him even try? And what’s with E.J.’s bizarre dreams about the North Star? From Chicago, through the heartland and all the way to the Malibu Pier, they struggle to accept that while faith, hope and love are important, trust is the key to the future.

Thank you so much for the opportunity! My current romance novel is something a bit different - Warrior of the Nile, set in Ancient Egypt. There's a hot scene or two between hero and heroine...Here's the story:
Lady Tiya is bound to the service of the goddess Nephthys, who plans to sacrifice Tiya’s body to protect Egypt from an ancient terror. She embarks to meet her grim fate alone but for the hardened warrior Khenet, who is fated to die at her side. Tiya’s dreams of love and family now seem impossible, and Khenet, who is the last of his line, knows his culture will die with him. Struggling with the high cost of Nephthys’s demands, both resolve to remain loyal.

Neither expects the passion that flowers when Tiya’s quiet courage and ethereal beauty meet Khenet’s firm strength and resolve. On a boat down the Nile, their two lonely souls find in each other a reason to live. But time is short and trust elusive.

Without the willing sacrifice of Tiya and Khenet, a great evil will return to Egypt. How could the gods demand their deaths when they’ve only just begun to live?

RT Book Reviews said "...you’re in for the most romantic desert story since Elizabeth Taylor’s Cleopatra…” and Night Owl Romance's reviewer rated it a Top Pick.

Thanks for the opportunity. Here's a bit about my latest release To Growl or to Groan:

Her gift could save a missing girl…or destroy her relationship forever.

After receiving a troubling Tarot reading, Chloe just knows something big and bad is about to happen. Her ability to communicate with animals and shape-shifters is going awry, and her growing psychic abilities are beginning to scare her. Despite her unease, she won’t let anything interrupt her trip to Scotland to spend the holidays with her shape-shifter boyfriend’s family. Jorge is everything she’s always wanted, and the fire between Chloe and the passionate panther-shifter burns hot. But meeting his family has her nerves in knots.

When Jorge’s sister goes missing, Chloe’s psychic abilities might be the only thing that can help them find her. But things don’t go as planned, and with confusing psychic visions clouding her judgment, Chloe makes a mistake and an animal is injured. And Chloe fears she might hurt Jorge as well…

What readers are saying about To Growl or to Groan:
"I enjoyed reading more in this book about Chloe's exploration of her abilities and past as well as her HOT relationship with Jorge. I will be looking for more from this author for sure. This book is a light and fun read with adventure, passion and a few unexpected twists and turns. Highly recommend reading this book."

Sarah,
What a timely opportunity to share my latest contemporary western story, Tie Down My Heart, which released Nov. 1st. from Decadent Tease.

Didi Pierpont needs an in-depth interview with a rodeo participant at the regional championships being held in northern Texas. Problem is, most of the entrants remember her from her beauty pageant days and don’t take her seriously. Right before a calf-roping event, she gets agreement for an interview from a striking Native American cowboy. But the calf is uncooperative and Chay Red Fox is wheeled out on a stretcher. Her persistence keeps them together as she watches him for symptoms of a concussion. Chay’s cocky attitude is his defense against the allure of this nosy, but so cute, reporter. He doesn’t think his soul can take another hit from a white woman. But the more Didi learns about this intriguing man, the more her heart melts. Can she keep her journalistic distance, or will she succumb to the man who has her tied in knots?

Thanks for the opportunity, Sarah! There are some great books posted already!

I'd love to share my latest medieval romance, Believe In Me.

A knight determined to honor his vow. A lady set on vengeance. Only love stood in their way.

Lady Cristiana’s plan to seek revenge against her mother’s murderer is cut short when a world-weary knight arrives to escort her to her new guardian, a powerful bishop. Cristiana refuses to become a ward of the bishop whom she suspects was involved in her mother’s death, but the knight leaves her no choice.

Sir William hopes to earn a second chance at the life he was given but believes he doesn’t deserve. Serving the bishop seems the perfect solution, except Lady Cristiana thwarts him at every turn, captivating him body and soul.

Cristiana has the unique ability to heal the sick through her touch. Accustomed to hiding her gift, the wall she’s built to protect herself crumbles under William’s passionate regard. Honor-bound to deliver her despite her protests and his own doubts, William reluctantly fulfills his vow only to realize the depth of his mistake.

As William and Cristiana’s love grows, they realize the bishop plans to use her ability to fulfill his own destiny with little concern for the life of others, including Cristiana’s. The bishop’s treachery comes to light, forcing Cristiana to choose between revenge or the love of a lifetime.

It's available on all devices, but here's the Amazon link: http://amzn.to/19Q6UP7

I've tweeted the blog as well!
