Six Sentence Sunday 7/03

Happy Six Sentence Sunday! This week continues where last week left off.

Old fears and uncertainties returned. Her hand dropped away from her mouth to fist against her thigh. “Tell me something, Noah. Is it morbid curiosity that brings you in today, or something else?”

"I don't know what you're talking about."

Of course he did. Not for a minute did she believe the confusion that flashed across his face.

As always, thank you to everyone who keeps coming back to read and comment. Make sure to visit

Wow, you can tell I'm still half asleep. That is only four. Let me correct that.

Yikes! Now it's seven. Shhh, don't tell anyone. It made more sense with the seventh one. ;-)

I won't tell. I consider it more for me! *grin*

The "I don't know what you're talking about" gives a lot away. :) I want more though. LOL

You have a knack for realistic sounding dialogue, which can be so hard to do. Her emotion shines through here too.

Great job.

What's Noah playing at? She just might have to use that clenched fist on him!

Nothing cranks the tension like asking someone his agenda and getting this kind of dissonance between the response and the POV character's reading of it. Somebody's got history, and we want to know more.

Meh, if he's going to lie he's got to work more on being convincing, clearly!

You have to have the seventh sentence to make it complete. Love the four, six or seven.

I like how she sees him as pretending to be confused. She must know him well. Great six!

I like the filtered perspective here. She interprets it one way, but is it her own bias or the truth?

Lynne Murray said...

Great set up! Is he being dishonest or is she suspecting an agenda that isn't there? Now we need to know!
